Why Gluten-Free is a Smart Choice for Everyone

Gluten-free is one of those food buzz words that is making its rounds in commercial food product circles. You may have considered buying products with the "healthy" mark on it or if you're a part of the population that suffers from gluten sensitivity, gluten intolerance or celiac disease, commercialization of gluten-free products is a god-send.

I've reduced my gluten intake significantly as a symptom of my transition to a plant-based diet. I cut out refined flours and opted for grains like kamut, teff, and spelt. It's a choice I made after researching what gluten actually is and how it treats the body when digested.

I simplify the processing of the flour I use by buying the unprocessed grain and grinding it myself. I take control over how my flours are made so that I'm not digesting unnecessary ingredients added to store-bought flour products.

So you can imagine the Gluten-free Garage event interested me. I thought this was a great opportunity to ask questions about how gluten-free products are made. I got some answers and I got really excited about the gluten-free vegan options, watch.
